A JOURNAL ENTRY ON CREATIVITY

Lately I’ve been thinking about the concept of creativity and how care free it should be. How it should feel like running through wide open fields with the love of your life, or jumping head first into a pool for the first swim of the season. 

I think so often we feel the need to put ourselves in this box, to niche down, to label ourselves.. and it all just gets so businessy. It’s all too easy to feel restricted and to hold ourselves back because maybe it’s “too much,” or “too weird,” or “too different.” 

But we’re artists. We’re allowed to take a step back from the marketing and the admin and the professionalism. We’re allowed to be endlessly imaginative and whimsical and wild. Who cares if it’s “too weird,” or “too much,” or something that the world hasn’t seen before? Don’t hold your art hostage for fear of judgement. Create more for YOU, just you.
