A Whimsical Engagement Session at The Arboretum

I got to spend yesterday morning with Melissa and Thomas, one of my couples for this upcoming fall! Their energy was infectious: playful, warm, inviting, and care-free. I honestly don’t think we went more than 5 minutes without some kind of laughter! I left this session feeling so incredibly lucky for this job, and ready for the slowness of summer to be over.

Melissa only sent me one inspiration photo for their entire session, highlighting that she loves images with movement because they tend to feel more natural. I played off their vibrant personalities, coupled with Melissa’s love of fashion, and I think what came of it is a gallery that truly represents who these two are. This is one I’ll be reminiscing on for a long time! I can’t wait to have them back in front of my camera in October!

I spend a lot of my time reminiscing on the best memories, ready to create more. My hope is that my work creates that sense of nostalgia for you. The kind of feeling you wanna relive over and over again- front of the fridge, living room wall worthy.

I love madly in details. 

I love the smell of vanilla candles and the air when it’s crisp just before a fall rainstorm. I love the way that the sky turns all sorts of orange and pink when the sun’s going down. I’ll spend an hour at the store just to make sure I find you the perfect birthday card, and then I’ll probably end up buying two anyways. I’m fascinated by how the waves in the ocean are never ending and if you were to ask what inspires me, I’d say storytelling in all of its many different art forms.
